Here’s a summary of Bryan’s video:
Okay, so people a lot of times will call in and ask about how to change an electric cook top over to gas. They wanna get a gas range hooked up, or an oven. And if you have gas there already, obviously, that’s pretty easy, we just hook up the gas to it, but if you don’t have gas there we need to figure out a way to get gas to it.
A lot of that depends on the pipe sizing in the house, you know some call, and they say, “Oh, my water heater’s right there, right next to it. Should be easy.” Well, we have to make sure that you have enough gas going to that water heater to provide gas for that cook top, so I’ve really gotta come in, and look at the whole house, assess what your gas usage is now, and how much gas… what size gas lines you have in the attic, or if we can draw something from there.
Usually, we can come from the attic, maybe cut a small hole behind the cooktop, and drop it down on the wall. Sometimes we have to do a little bit more sheetrock damage than that, but usually it’s very minor.
